The NC° Thermometer Gen1 is our first generation thermometer. It's a basal thermometer, which means that it's a digital thermometer that measures with two decimals (for example, 36.29°C or 96.89°F).
With the NC° Thermometer Gen1, you measure your temperature each morning when you wake up and then log the temperature in the app by opening the Add data page and typing it in there. You can find our measuring guidelines for this thermometer here.
You also have the option to save the temperature on the thermometer and add it to the app later, and you can read more about how to do this here.
Do you have a different thermometer? Please visit the following sections for more information about the NC° Thermometer Gen2 and the NC° Thermometer Gen3.
What is a basal thermometer?
A basal thermometer is more sensitive than a regular fever thermometer, which only measures with one decimal. This higher sensitivity is very important when you want to measure your basal body temperature, which rises by 0.2-0.45°C (0.36-0.81°F) after ovulation.
If you're using Natural Cycles with a thermometer, it's important that you use a basal thermometer, like the NC° Thermometer Gen1.
