If your NC° Thermometer Gen1 says Lo on the display, this means low temperature, and not low battery – so don’t worry!
When you press the on/off button to switch on the thermometer, a short beep will confirm the thermometer has switched on. The last measurement will then be displayed for approximately two seconds together with a small “M” symbol (M=memory) before the thermometer shows a reloading temperature of either 37.00°C (±0.01°C) or 98.60°F (±0.02°F). The thermometer will then switch to measuring mode to begin measuring a new temperature. Once this happens, the thermometer can show Lo because it’s reading the room temperature. This is usually too low for the NC° Thermometer Gen1, which can only measure down to 32°C (89.6°F).
If the thermometer shows Lo after you've measured, it could mean that you need to adjust the way you measure:
- Make sure to place the thermometer as far back as possible in your mouth and underneath your tongue, right at the root of your tongue.
- Close your mouth tightly before you turn the thermometer on.
- Make sure to always keep your mouth closed before and while measuring, and only press the on/off button to begin measuring once the thermometer is in the correct position and your mouth is closed.
We also recommend completing the Measuring Training in the app to ensure that everything is working as it should and that you’re measuring correctly. You can find the Measuring Training by going to the top menu > My device. Before completing the training, you should read this article, which covers how to complete the training and what the results mean.
