To ensure the accuracy of your measurements, it's important that you have a working thermometer. In this article, we’ll go through different troubleshooting steps you can take to solve any issue you may encounter while using your NC° Thermometer Gen1.
If you have any questions or need more help, you can contact our Customer Support Team via this link. Please provide us with details on the issue you are experiencing and your full postal address for faster service.
Why does my thermometer say Lo?
Lo means low temperature, not that the battery level is low. The thermometer will display Lo if it starts at room temperature, which is roughly 21°C (69.8°F) because this temperature is too low for our basal thermometer to read. Body temperature is usually around 35.80–36.90°C (96.44-98.42 °F).
To avoid getting the Lo message, you should place your thermometer under your tongue and close your mouth before pressing ON. We write a bit more about this here.
My thermometer doesn’t start
If your thermometer doesn't beep or start, it may be because the battery has run out. You can find the instructions on how to change the battery here.
I've measured twice, and the thermometer shows two different temperatures. Is there something wrong with it?
Your body temperature changes all the time, so the first reading is likely to come out differently than the second one. There is no need to measure twice, as the first reading will be the closest to your actual resting temperature. We write more here.
If you're worried about how to measure or about your thermometer not functioning correctly, please use the Measuring Training function, which you can find under the top menu > My device.
What do I do if it still doesn’t work?
If your thermometer has been damaged in any way (for instance, if it doesn’t turn on despite changing the battery, has a blinking display, or a loose power button), you can purchase a new one directly in the app by going to the top menu > Buy extra supplies, or from our webshop.
Please remember to only change to your new thermometer at the start of your next period. There can be a small difference in how each thermometer measures, so it’s very important that you do not change thermometers in the middle of a cycle. You can read more about this here.
If you have recently started a new cycle and would like to start using your new thermometer right away, you can instead exclude all temperatures taken with the old thermometer in the current cycle. That way, you can start measuring with the new one right away and don’t have to wait until your next period begins.
