What modes are available, and can I switch between them?
Natural Cycles offers four modes for our Cyclers to choose from, so that you can select which fits you based on your needs:
NC° Birth Control – for preventing pregnancy. You can read more about NC° Birth Control here.
NC° Plan Pregnancy – for increasing chances of conception. You can read about NC° Plan Pregnancy here.
NC° Follow Pregnancy – for monitoring the course of a pregnancy. You can read about NC° Follow Pregnancy here.
NC° Postpartum – for guidance on the physical and mental recovery of childbirth. You can read more about this here.
When signing up, you will select the mode that is relevant for you at that time. If your needs change, you can switch modes in the app at any time by tapping the top menu > Settings > Mode.
Will I have to pay extra to switch modes?
Your subscription covers all the different modes, so it will not be affected if you change which mode you're using. Your renewal will be on the same date as usual, for the same price, and you won’t be charged extra fees.
How will it impact my data if I switch modes?
If you have been using the app for some time, the data that you have previously added will be used to optimize your experience as you start using the new mode. For instance, if you are using NC° Birth Control and switch to NC° Plan Pregnancy, the app will use all your historical data (such as your average ovulation day or cycle length) for your predictions.
It is important that you always use the mode that best suits you, as the experience in the app is tailored to give you detailed messages and information based on the mode you are using. For example, if you switch from NC° Birth Control to NC° Plan pregnancy, the app will now try to help you get pregnant, so your daily fertility status and app messages will reflect this.
When using NC° Plan Pregnancy the algorithm is set up to behave slightly differently from NC° Birth Control. More specifically, when planning a pregnancy, the algorithm is not as cautious when calculating your fertile and non-fertile days to optimize pregnancy chances.
The colors and symbols also vary for each mode – you can learn more about the colors and symbols for each mode by following the links below:
