Note: The Garmin integration is available on NC° app version 5.7.0 (or higher).
How to connect your Garmin wearable to the Natural Cycles app
As a new user
- Sign up to use Natural Cycles and choose Garmin as your measuring device.
- Log in to the Natural Cycles app. Follow the in-app instructions to connect your Garmin account. Enable permissions for heart rate and wrist temperature data when asked.
- Sleep wearing your Garmin wearable overnight. Open Garmin Connect in the morning to sync your data. Your temperature data is then sent to the Natural Cycles app, and our algorithm transforms this data into your daily fertility status. Open the Natural Cycles app to see your daily fertility status.
⚠️ Important: Always check the NC° app for your fertility status. Garmin syncs your body temperature data with the Natural Cycles app — our algorithm then analyzes this alongside other cycle variables, which may cause your ovulation and temperature data to look different in each app. Garmin Connect does not use our regulated algorithm and should never be used for birth control.
As an existing user
You can change your measuring device at any time by going to the app’s top menu > My device > Switch device.
Please note that we recommend only switching measuring devices at the start of a new cycle. Check out the article How to switch measuring devices to learn more.

Evening routine
Before sleeping each night:
-
Wear your Garmin Watch on your outer wrist.
- Tip: Make sure the fit is snug and not too tight. See Garmin’s “Wear & Care Tips” to learn more.
- If you want to swap the wrist you measure on, do this at the start of your next cycle.
-
Make sure your wearable has enough battery to measure overnight. Battery life varies by model and usage — you may only need to charge once every week or two.
- Tip: Set up charging reminders via Garmin Connect.
Morning routine
When you wake up:
- Open Garmin Connect to sync your temperature data.
- Your temperature automatically transfers to the Natural Cycles app.
- The NC° algorithm calculates your daily fertility status.
- Head to the NC° app to see if today is a Green/Red Day.

Natural Cycles will notify you that the sync was successful, so make sure notifications are enabled (top menu > Settings > Notifications).
If you don’t sync first thing in the morning, that’s ok! Your temperature data is saved, so it will import automatically the next time you open the NC° app. Just remember to sync your temperature data later in the day and check your updated fertility status in the Natural Cycles app daily.
What does the timestamp under my temperature mean?
The timestamp shown under your temperature indicates when the Natural Cycles app received the data from Garmin Connect, which may differ from the time you actually woke up.
Since Garmin wearables measure skin temperature data at night while you sleep, you can sync your Garmin temperature data with the NC° app at any time.
Fertility status
Once the temperature from your Garmin wearable has synced to the NC° app, you will see your updated fertility status for the day on the Today tab in the Natural Cycles app.
It’s important to ensure that your latest temperature data syncs and saves before you check your fertility status each day, as the new data may change today’s status.
