Natural Cycles has a comprehensive privacy protection program called NC° Secure, that is included with every Natural Cycles subscription. The program includes advanced data protection, including encryption and pseudonymization, to keep your data secure.
It’s important to keep in mind that you always own your data and have the power to control how it’s used. You can learn more about NC° Secure here.
As part of NC° Secure, you also have the option to Go Anonymous if you need an extra layer of protection for your identity, for example, if your data is at an increased risk. If you Go Anonymous, your personal identifying information will be separated from your fertility data, which means that no one — not even us at Natural Cycles — can link your NC° data to you.
You will see a badge and text saying that your data is anonymized in the My account and Settings pages. The anonymized data includes your name, email address, and password, as well as which mode you are using, date of birth, weight, height, and due date if you are using NC° Follow Pregnancy.
Note that if you Go Anonymous, you will not have access to the Partner View. This is because your personal data and fertility data are kept separate, which also means that you cannot share any data with your partner. The Partner View is disabled to ensure that your identity is hidden and your data is kept safe.
How to Go Anonymous
You can Go Anonymous by going to your app’s top menu > Settings > Go Anonymous > toggle Go Anonymous ON.
When you make the switch, you will be given a Recovery Key along with the option to copy it to the clipboard. This key is the link between your personal and fertility data, so we can keep them separate to keep your identity safe. It’s essential to keep the Recovery Key secure, so make sure to write it down and save it somewhere. If you forget your password and don’t have a Recovery Key, your data will be lost, and we will not be able to retrieve it for you.
I don’t see the option to Go Anonymous in my app’s settings
There are a few reasons you may not have access to the Go Anonymous feature yet:
- You will not see the Go Anonymous feature in your app if you have signed up with an Apple or Google login.
The Go Anonymous feature will not be available unless you set a password in the app (a password is required to enter and exit Go Anonymous).
To set a password, go to the top menu > My account > Password. The Go Anonymous feature should then be available in your app (under the menu > Settings).
- To use Go Anonymous, you need to verify your email address in the app. To check this, go to the top menu > My account > Email. If you have not verified your email address, you will be prompted to do so. Once your email has been verified, refresh the NC° app, and you should be able to see the Go Anonymous feature.
- If you signed up using a hidden email (via Apple sign-in), please know that you cannot use a hidden email to access Go Anonymous. This is a protection measure to ensure you don’t lose access to your data. If you’d like to access Go Anonymous, you need to switch the registered email address to your real email address in the NC° app. You can easily do so via the top menu in the app > My Account > Email. Please note that once you enter Go Anonymous, we no longer have access to your personal information, and this includes your email address.
💡If you’re not sure if you signed up with a hidden email, you can find out by going to My account > Email in the app. If you see an email address that ends in @privaterelay.appleid.com, it means you used the "Hide My Email" feature on your iPhone. These email addresses are unique and random, and they mean Natural Cycles cannot see your real email address. They work by forwarding emails to your real email address. If you’re not sure what this is, you can refer to this Apple Support article: What is Hide My Email?
How do I reach Customer Support?
If you Go Anonymous, you can still contact our Customer Support team with any questions you may have.
You can contact us directly from the app by going to the menu > Customer support > Contact us.
Before submitting your request, you will be asked to accept that you give our Customer Support team temporary access to your sensitive data. That’s because our Customer Support agents may need to look at your account or data to help you with your question. The access will expire 10 days after your request is submitted.
If you decline to grant the Customer Support team access to your data, you can instead reach out to us via this link. In this case, please note that we will not be able to help you with any account or data-related questions since we will not be able to access it.
How to turn off Go Anonymous
Follow the steps below to turn off Go Anonymous:
- Go to the top menu in the app > Settings > Go Anonymous and toggle the slider to disable it.
- You will then get a pop-up to confirm if you want to disable Go Anonymous – select Continue.
- Enter your login credentials (email address and password) and select Turn off. If you have forgotten your password, you will need to use your Recovery Key to reset it. Note that if you don’t have your Recovery Key or don’t remember it, you will not be able to reset your password and you will not be able to recover your account.
